The Winter of 1992 in Cannes

Click on the small pictures to see an enlargement of them.

We spent a fantastic winter in Cannes. In large part because a nephew: Eric Picker and his wife Apolline, lived only 3 miles from the Municipal Marina and were taking us around almost every week end to visit the back country and relatives.
Meet first Eric,
then Apolline,
and now together.
See them also with us in one of our many hiking trips in the back country and with Claire's sister Hélène and her husband Jacky.

We sailed once with Eric, Apolline and Eric's aunt Lisette.
Eric, as is evident on the third picture, is far more confortable
on a vertical mountain cliff than on a calm horizontal sea!
We also sailed once with Claire's sister Marie France her husband Jean François and their son Joachim. We also had the visit of Hélène, Jacky and their neighbor. Of course Eric and Apolline were frequent visitors.

Now for a few visited places.

A street in Saint Paul de Vence.
Seen below in a distance.

With Eric and Apolline we went to the Château de Grignan to hear a string quartet in which Pierre-Olivier, Marie France's son, played first violin. Of course, Marie France and Jean François were there.

An isolated Chapel, close to Hélène and Jacky's house.

Gourdon, another lovely village;
a stone's throw from Cannes.
    A street of Gorbio.
    An old bridge.

With Lisette and two of her friends, Lucette and George, we hiked to Bargème.

On April 9, 93, we left Cannes for Corsica with Apolline making the trip with us.
