We left Tenerife to cross the Atlantic on December 2nd and arrived on the 28th. The crossing was a little slow because the trade winds did not get established until late January. We had to stay close to latitude 20 for most of the crossing.

We caught a lot of fish, mostly mahi mahi. They were all close to 40 inches in length, more than 20 lbs. We had more than 4 meals per catch. What we could not eat that day was put in the freezer. |
On a clear day a "pod" of mahi mahi (coriphena hippurus) could be seen following E Galois. They mostly swim in pairs. |
