In Marmaris we meet Lena and David, we will meet again later this summer in the Baleares. In Hiraklia Whanakee help us anchor. our engine was dead. The fuel filter was plugged! We will get a new one in Milos. This is the spot were the Venus de Milos was found. She had arms but they were lost in the transfer to Athens! We stopped in Kalamata and took a bus to visit Mystra. This is a gate to the upper citadel city.

From the top of Mystra we see Sparta in the plain, nothing is left of the antique city. Our last stop in the Peloponnese was Methoni from where we hopped to Sicilly. We arrived at Gardini-Naxos a little ahead of schedule to meet the Cerdellis and the Tards. Aetna, although 25 miles to the South West, dominates the landscape.

From Naxos ,with Estelle and Philo on board, we headed South and hoped over to Malta. En route, during the night, we crossed path with Baron Rouge; they were coming from Malta!! After a week in Malta we said good bye to the Cerdellis and the Tards and sailed to Tunisia. A high point of our stay in Tunisia was the visit to the Bardeau Museum in Tunis.

Estelle and Philo ready to take pictures as we enter the harbour of Valetta on Malta. Late that afternoon Annie and Louis-Martin rejoined us. The impressive citadel of Valetta. One of the many mosaics in the Bardeau museum that has the best collection of them in the world.

From Tunis we went to Bizerte before making a jump to Sardinia and on to the Baleares where we cruised from July 19th to August 15th. We met at the Mahon anchorage many cruisers we had encountered throughout the Med and were on the way out of it. We would keep meeting them on and off until December when we would all make the jump to the Caribbean Islands. We did not stay long in Spain, to Aug 24th, but we visited Grenada. then on to Gibraltar to September 11th.
